The Department is headed by the Director and saddled with the management of flood and erosion with appropriate flood control measures in the State. The department achieves its responsibilities through:
- Planning, designing and construction of Flood and Erosion Control structures;
- Construction of primary and secondary collector’s drains;
- Maintenance of secondary and primary drainage channels;
- Hinterland and Coastal Erosion Control Management;
- Dredging and Land reclamation.
